Wifi Solar Animation

Filed under: Animations, Sun — Dave @ 3:33 pm

WSO test pilot Ken has produced a very detailed time-lapse animation of the sun using DSSR and DVS. One of the nice things about it is that he has captured surface and prominence detail using a single exposure value.

Ken used a laptop besides his scope to control the scope and camera using DSSR. He then controlled this laptop via wifi from the comfort of his home.

The time lapse frames were run thru DVS to remove the shakes.

Watch this at 720dpi on full screen and loop it – there is a lot going on in different parts of the sun.

Nice one Ken
